In July, we went on a big family adventure! Mommy, daddy, Chaya, Anjali and all 3 dogs, we drove up north to visit our families. Daddy had a conference to go to in Ottawa. And we decided to stop in Michigan for a day and a half, on the way, to see some old friends and colleagues. The girls were as expected during the drive, not too bad as long as I had plenty of snacks to give them, lots of toys to rotate, and fun DVDs to watch! They were pretty horrible at night though, they didn't sleep well at all, kept waking up every night, many times, and mommy had to breastfeed them constantly, and they pretty much ended up in our bed a big part of the night. The girls were pretty overwhelmed and sometimes stressed out with all the new people, places and all the traveling. We didn't have our regular routine, so it really messed up their sleeping. It took many weeks for things to get back to "normal" after we got home! (And then, their molars started coming in, and after that, they both got fevers, and then a cold... It really is true what people say, that you can never quite get used to something when you have little kids, things are always changing and evolving!)
We had a wonderful time with our friends and family.. the girls were quite shy with everyone though, except for their grandmas. Poor grandpas could barely hold their sweet granddaughters without them bursting into tears. Hoping they are friendlier next time around. Here are a few photos documenting the trip!
